Directions to Cottages:
Our holiday cottages are located on the Laudale Estate on the Morvern Peninsula on the West Coast of Scotland.
We are approximately 3 ½ hours drive and 140 miles from Edinburgh and approximately 3 hours drive and 118 miles from Glasgow. For those from further afar, Edinburgh and Glasgow airports operate regular routes to all major airports UK wide and cars can be easily rented.
You will need to take the five minute crossing over the Corran Ferry, which is 8 miles south-west of Fort William. The ferry runs for most of the day every 30 minutes. A timetable and fare information can be found here.
After the crossing, turn immediately LEFT at the top of the slipway on the A861. Continue along the A861 for about 12 miles following signs to Lochaline and Strontian. Eventually you will see the head of Loch Sunart and just before you get to the loch turn LEFT onto the A884, signposted to Lochaline and Mull Ferry.
If you are staying at Lochhead you will see the cottage from the turn-off onto the A884 on the opposite side and reach the cottage after approximately ½ a mile.
If you are staying at Achleek continue from the turn-off onto the A884 passing Lochhead and driving for a further few miles. Achleek is up a steep drive from the main road (excellent views as a result!). Look out for the cottage sign.
Camus na h-Airdhe
If you are staying at Camus na h-Airdhe, drive along beside the loch past Lochhead first, then after a few miles Achleek, and Camus is a few hundred yards further on.
If you are staying at Sunart House, pass Lochhead and Achleek. From Achleek, Sunart House is less than ½ a mile and clearly marked with a sign.
The Bothy & Riverside Cottage
If you are staying at The Bothy or Riverside Cottage continue on the A884 for another 1/2 mile until you reach the signpost for Laudale on the right. Continue down the single track road for 2 miles, through the private drive for another 1/2 mile and you will see Laudale house on the right. Continue on the tarmac road, through the courtyard, past the tennis court and over the bridge where you will see The Bothy and Riverside Cottage on your left.
