Situated on an elevated site above the shores of Loch Sunart, Achleek has spectacular views to the west with sunsets that are hard to beat. Whether it is a west coast summer’s day or a crisp winter morning, the views and immediate surrounding area are simply beautiful.
It’s a perfect place to view wildlife.
Originally a tackman’s house (a representative to the Highland Clan Chiefs) Achleek is located on the Laudale Estate which stretches along the south shore of Loch Sunart and has been transformed into a beautifully appointed holiday house with a cosy and welcome feel.
On the ground floor, Achleek has a comfortable sitting room, an open log fire and a TV with Freesat and DVD and a CD player. The kitchen is spacious, well equipped and finished to a high standard, with a large dining table. Upstairs there are three bedrooms, two doubles and a twin, capable of sleeping up to 6 people, making it ideal for a large family, or, a holiday with friends.
The nearest village, Strontian, is 10 minutes drive away and has two grocery shops and some excellent places to eat (and drink!). The road leads on to the Mull Ferry just 30 minutes drive away, making a trip to Mull or even Iona quite possible in a day.
8 miles away is the quaint village of Strontian, home to a local post office, general store and petrol station as well as local shops, cafes, bars and restaurants – all serving delicious local produce. For those who want to explore further, the livelier town of Fort William is 28 miles away – just an hour’s drive via the Corran ferry. As well as having a range of shops and eateries, Fort William also boasts a leisure centre, golf course and swimming pool.
